Mental Workout

Critical thinking and a willingness to explore our behavior is a big part of this warmup.  This makes it fun AND a great warmup.

Spiritual Workout

Challenging WHY we do something may reveal a deep belief or the reality that a long behavior is meaningless.

Let me be 100% clear - this is a TOUGH workout and hard to accept.

There are invisible forces shaping your behavior.

You may have seen the Awareness test.  If you have, skip just past it.  If you have not seen it, be sure to watch it right now below:

Are you beginning to see?  Beginning to understand how you have been indoctrinated to ‘see’ the world a particular way?  To pay attention to what you have been told?

Steps:

  1. Watch the video below
  2. Create a dialogue with the group using the questions below.
  3. Wrap it up with choosing a single behavior to stop or start based upon the beep.  This can be personal or as a group – you decide as the leader.

Questions:

  • What are ‘beeps’ in our group?  What are the behaviors we do for each beep?
  • Alternatively, identify behaviors and then find the beep.
  • Once you find a behavior, ask, ‘How does this behavior benefit us?’

Examples:

Want to use this workout with a group or team?

Use the instructions below:

Steps:

  1. Show the group this video,

Examples:

A sales person closes a deal, they immediately ring the bell and change their sales number on the board.

Beep = closed sale

Behavior = behavior as above

How does this behavior benefit us?

An email comes in and you get a notification, you immediately stop what you were doing and look at the email.

NOTE!

Many behaviors DO NOT have benefit.  Or the behavior may benefit one person and hinder another.  What’s the Beep helps you identify the beep and behavior.  YOU must decide the value.  To do that, you must know what you want.

This can be a warmup for a deeper discussion during a Team Workout.  This would prepare them for that conversation.
